Yes,there are many MANY resources and information products that cover Wordpress in some way or another, however piecing together the most essential things can be a huge pain in the ass! With that said, i’ve decided to put my experiences/knowledge on paper so to speak and share it you, the readers.
Although it’s not set in stone – at this stage the guide is focusing more on the following areas:
- Installing your blog in 5minutes or less
- Blog themes – what you should be looking for
- Plugins that i use and what they are used for
- Uploading your theme, activating and configuring theme options
- Plugin activation and configuration
- The WP Settings that i personally use
- Other configuration suggestions
- Final notes
At this stage I’ve created most of the rough draft and so far it’s weighing in at a nice hefty 27 pages!, but i do hope to cut this down dramatically and focus this guide towards more of a step by step blueprint with the least focus on filler content and fluff!.
The main goal after all is to give you a step by step guide that you’ll be able to use to setup and configure your blog like i would in less than 30 minutes.
I am really looking forward to completing this!
If you have any things you would like to see present in this guide, please leave a comment and i will consider.

Hi Colin,
Can’t get your email forms to submit. Tried to add my blog address then use your ‘Contact’ link.
I have come to the party a bit late so am playing catch up.
Anyway keep up the good work

Brian,
I have received the form submission just fine to my email. I am not quite sure what is happening on your end, but it worked over here.
Should show a success message at the top of the form when you’ve submitted it. It did during my tests anyways.
Cheers,
Colin
