Well, now that Christmas is literally right around the corner, my productive time now has seemed to have diminished, but that is to be expected… right?. It’s cold/flu season now too and i’ve been bogged down with a nasty flu for the last two days as a result, however am back and on track now.
Needless to say i am falling behind as a result these days and i am not happy about that! (fuel for the fire maybe?
)
But, I have to say i am in no way surprised either. A good friend of mine always told me that my todo list will grow out of control when working on line and he was dead on with that statement.
It is hard to keep productive and focused when you are trying to work on too many things at once. Being sidetracked too often is enough to take the motivation right out from under your sails.
It’s very important to be organized, prioritized and focused on one thing at a time. I am practicing this as much as i can using Alex’s advice as i have spent the last two years especially totally engulfed in nothing but on line work relating to various projects that have forced me to sacrifice my social life (amongst other things).
I don’t want this trend to continue any longer.
If you can take anything from this small post, treat your on line business like a job. Do one thing at a time with the notion that you have absolutely “no choice” lodged in the back of your mind. So in other words – you won’t get paid unless you get the job done.
So having said that, i figured i would update you all with what i am currently working on for my blog now.
- My Wordpress setup ebook which i have titled “BlogFu” is now completed and just needs to be formatted and packaged up nicely before it hits the shelves
. If all goes well, it should be completed by the weeks end. - I will also be adding a resource section which will list the tools i have used to build my blog – from hosting all the way to organization tools. Basically anything i use along the way that i deem to be of use to you, the reader as i make my journey towards success through this coaching program.
- I will also be writing an actual “About me” page to give readers and fellow students a better idea as to who i am.
Upon completion of my “BlogFu” ebook, i will work towards the module 4 lesson which talks about the real meat in my opinion – Traffic Generation!
I can’t wait! Traffic generation can be tough if you don’t know what you are doing, but as time passes, new tactics arise and i look forward to learning what will be taught in this section.
Without traffic to your site, you have nothing ultimately.
I will be posting about this as soon as i can along with what i will be doing to generate traffic and what i have already been doing in upcoming posts… Stay tuned!

Hi Colin,
Firstly, Happy Christmas Colin and thanks for contributing on my blog. An interesting debate is forming about the Blogroll and appreciate your feedback.
Really glad you’re already putting the finishing touches to you ebook. – Love the title too.

Hi Garry,
I’ve been doing my best to follow what it happening on your blog as well as deans. I can’t imagine how much time it must eat up keeping up with your blog considering the amount of traffic you two receive.
I’ve added more comments to it. Could be worth the read.
Thanks, first ebook like this, so i am pretty hyped about finishing it off this weekend. I hope it helps others out, however i do not receive the sort of traffic from other students where it would be significant to those who may struggle with setting up a blog. So i might have to work on driving some traffic as well.
Appreciate your feedback when it’s out of course.
Cheers, happy holidays.
Colin
Hi Colin,
Saw you over at Gazza Parkes’s hangout. You made a lot of good comments there so I came over to see what you are doing with your blogeroo. I call it a blogeroo coz I use it like a kangaroo and hop from site to site. No doubt Google will be preparing to slap the Christ out of us for doing this as it will see it as some sort of Google-perversion, which it is not.
Love the name of your book but I would separate the words to Blog Fu if you are trying to align it with Kung Fu. And maybe I would subby it with “the Gentle ART of Blogging.” Just my 2c. You gotta spell stuff out for folks coz so many of them just won’t GET IT if it is too subtle.
Anyway Colin I really don’t like that blasted security code thing. They are extraordinarily difficult to read. I HATE them – especially late at night when I am really tired and bleary eyed. These things are an IMPEDIMENT to people leaving comments. Many just leave without commenting coz they are too hard to fight through.
Come over to Gary-Land and grab my free “Time in Motion” ACTION Planner. About 60 fellow studeys have and I have received EXCELLENT reviews on it.

Hi Gary,
Thanks for stopping on by and leaving a comment.
Yes, it really is hard to say what Google does from update to update or really how to prepare for it. The best thing you can do is stay under the radar and adhere to the guidelines as best as possible. Really the odds of Google punishing blogs since WP is such a widely used CMS plat form these days is highly unlikely.
I appreciate your ebook suggestions and i would totally use them and infact may try to contact the designer to make these changes, however 1 day too late. Slogans and so forth really are not my thing and yours certainly is much more suiting than what i have at the moment.
As for the CAPTCHA code thing. In the past i’ve been hit pretty heavily with spam and my thoughts were to just be as secure as possible. Perhaps i will take your suggestion and run without that and rely on akismet to do all that is necessary while keeping and eye out.
They annoy me too for the record.
I’ve downloaded the planner and will work at getting fixed up and started with it as soon as i can. Appreciate the suggestion of course.
Cheers,
Colin
